Performance Measures for Ministerial Priorities
In August 2024, the Minister for Children identified 4 key priorities for Oranga Tamariki. They ensure we remain focused on our core purpose.
The priorities
The 4 key priorities are:
- Ensuring the safety of children and young people.
- Supporting caregivers.
- Addressing youth offending - in particular accountability for the Government’s Better Public Service Target three on reducing the number of serious and persistent offenders by 15 percent by July 2029.
- Improving complaint management and practice.
